St Thomas of Canterbury School’s Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) is a voluntary group run by parents/carers who meet on a regular basis.  It is open to all parents, carers, friends and staff of the school.  Parents/carers of children at the school are automatically members of the Association.

The Committee works with the headteachers, staff and governors and organizes a range of functions and events which are of interest to children, parents, staff and the wider community.  The aim of the PTFA is to raise money towards additional resources for the school and to enhance the relationship between the school, parents, families and the parish.  The PTFA run many of the social and fundraising events in school and contribute a lot towards cohesion in our school community.

St Thomas’ PTFA welcomes all parents and carers to join them in helping to raise funds for the school. They hold monthly meetings where they plan and organise the many events that they hold throughout the year.  All of the money raised by the PTFA  benefits the children of the school. This year the PTFA have donated wet play games and reading area furniture for all of the classrooms and have plans to donate a large sum of money for the new playground.

‘Phil the Bag’

PTFA members then helped to load the 199 bags onto the ‘Phil the Bag’ van.

After the bags were weighed ‘Phil the Bag’ paid the PTFA £445.50p

Christmas Fair

Please take a look below through our photogallery of our hugely successful Christmas Market!

Summer Fair

The summer fair was a huge success and visitors were treated to many different displays, from the Bolivian dance troop, to our very own karate display and Albanian club dancing. Our local MP, Mr Greg Hands came to judge our cake competition and the school choir sang to many in the hall. As well as raising money for the school, there was an incredible community spirit alive. We look forward to the next.
