Secondary Transfer
The secondary school application process has started and parents of Year 6 should think about which secondary school they would like their child to go to. They must apply for secondary school places online via the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham website (or their own borough website if their live outside Hammersmith & Fulham).
The closing date for applications is 31st October 2024 and the national offer day is 1st March 2025.
Applying online via www.lbhf.gov.uk/eadmissions has a number of benefits – not least because it is quick and easy. The e-admissions system is designed to help parents by guiding them through the process, ensuring they do not miss anything vital or make any mistakes. If parents are applying online, they will have up until 11.59pm on 31st October to submit their application.
Parents can use a paper application form which is only available from the admissions team on 020 7745 6434 or email school.admissions@lbhf.gov.uk. The deadline for paper application forms is 5pm, 31st October.
We cannot stress enough how important it is that parents complete the application process by the due date, having given a lot of thought to the schools that they would like their children to attend. It is very difficult to retrieve the situation if they do not apply by the above timescales and it is also difficult to change schools if they only receive an offer of a place at a school that they do not want.
Please download the documents below. They contain details about Hammersmith & Fulham schools including their open days/evenings. Please note that Catholic schools in the Borough are Sacred Heart High (Girls) and the London Oratory (Boys).
Sam Lord, who most of the Year 6 parents have met before the summer term, will give a briefing on the process and will be able to answer any questions parents may have at the advice session to be held in September in the School Hall.
The local authority is hoping that most parents apply on-line and, as such, will not send paper forms to the school.
Miss Breslin is also available for individual advice. Please make an appointment with the School Office if you wish to see her.
